Dorcus and Esther live in a rural part of Uganda, where many women and girls don't have access to proper sanitary pads—which means they're left with unsafe, unsanitary alternatives like banana fibers, and might even have to skip school when they're on their period. Dorcus and Esther's solution? Community workshops to teach girls and women how to make their own reusable pads, which are cheaper than the pads you buy in town, and more hygienic than banana fibers. They hope the practice will spread all over Uganda.
